Being creative and pushing myself to think outside of the box is one of the reasons why I absolutely LOVE Halloween!  Trust me, I was never this into Halloween before. C & I started the Halloween costume matching thing around 2008- not THAT long ago but I'm surprised that we've been keeping up with it since. It makes it that much more FUN and we know we can look forward to this holiday every year. I'm not going to lie, I love hearing the whispers around us when we walk by in our costumes every year...we "secretly" high five each other every time someone gives us a compliment. *high-five for pulling off another year of theee coolest costume*
C & J's Outfit
Tanks- Bought for $2.99 each at Charlotte Russe
Skirts- Bought sheets of fabric for $10 each from Jo-Ann Fabric then hand sewn
Stockings- Bought at an accessories store for $4.99 each
Belts- found in C & J's own closets
Boots- both from Urban Outfitters
P.S. The other bf joined in on the fun this year too, as big bird (hat and boots also DIY!)
(Buy a bag of yellow feathers from any craft store and hot glue them onto any hat- hat also found at craft store. Cookie Monster cookies were cut out from felt, easiest cookies I ever made!)

We don't exactly have the coolest costumes because of WHAT we are it's the coolest because we spend less than $20 each every year- there's always a DIY involved with our costumes and although we do pass by people who are dressed as the same "character" we know...in our eyes, ours is better because ours was hand made, cheap-er, and fully thought out from head to toe ;)

It's funny because C & I aren't very "showy" in your face- attention loving people at ALL but when it comes to Halloween...we take pride in our costumes (maybe it's because were disguised as someone/thing else) and that's when our tiny alter ego comes out.

Once every year only in October!

Enjoy our quick steps to this years Cookie Monster & Elmo costumes- we had so much fun with these but I did feel my old self get a bit lazier this year. Usually we have two costumes but this year we were good with one haha

Until next year...HAPPY HALLOWEEEEN!

Love, C & J

Girls Night Out!

C's Oufit: Cardigan- Random Boutique, Skirt- Target, Boots- Forever 21
J's Outfit: Coat- Forever 21, Shorts/Leggings - Urban Outfitters, Boots- Zara

C and I were in Little Tokyo last night, there was a FALL FEST event at the Japanese American Museum that had wine tasting and live music! We haven't seen each other in a while (even a few days seems like forever) so we decided to turn it into girls night out! We had dinner, spent some time in Little Tokyo and got desserts afterwards, it's always great to catch up with your BFF and we had a LOT to catch up on especially with the start of Halloween coming up...
I'm so glad it's Friday! Have a FUN and safe weekend- make sure to follow us on Instagram (@buylovegivelove) to find out clues about our DIY costume we'll be wearing tomorrow night!

I See Black & White

C's Outfit: Skirt- Target, Top- Forever 21, Shoes- found at a small boutique
J's Outfit: Bottom- American Apparel dress worn as a skirt, Top: Forever 21, Shoes- Steve Madden

Happy October! It's the first day of October- from this point on there's a holiday to celebrate each month...I can't wait it's my favorite part of the year. In celebration of Halloween coming up, we themed our post black and white- the two basic colors that go with EVERYTHING!

Does everyone have costumes in mind for Halloween? It's our FAVORITE holiday so stay tuned, it's going to be a FUN month of blogging for us. Every year we usually DIY our costumes, they're so much better and more fun then spending tons of money on store bought costumes...stay tuned, we haven't figured out what were going to be this year yet but it'll be GOOD like always ;)

"A few of my favorite things!" -Celia

As a continuation of Jamie's post- here's a couple of my favorite things (at the moment!):

1. Spring/summer colored bottoms: I'm loving these soft toned bottoms right now, so easy to wear but adds a pop of color to any outfit! The best part about it is, they were both such a good deal. Mint colored skinnies were found at Target for $25 and coral shorts were found at Forever21 online for $12.50, the price definitely makes them my FAVORITE things haha!

1. My perfume collection, one of my favorite things to put on when going out. The Chloe one has been my all-time favorite for awhile but I got the Marc Jacobs- Oh, Lola! one beginning of this year so I could alternate and the Chanel Chance is from my grandma... which I'm loving!!

2. My new Posh Monthly planner. I started the year off with a weekly planner but couldn't stand it any longer. Luckily, I found this monthly one on Amazon.. and it'll last me all through 2013. My favorite part is it's compact and has a hard cover.

3. Moroccan Oil- loving this stuff right now!! my hair is naturally frizzy and I bleach it a lot, this has been helping my hair get healthier and easier to maintain. My good friend is using their spray, so I might try that next!

1. I'm a very simple person when it comes to jewelry and I find myself throwing on these gold bracelets everyday. They are also special because all of them were gifts from my close girlfriends and my mom :)

2. My bedside. My favorite things to see before going to bed.

That was so much fun, hopefully we can do more updates like this one. I get to see Jamie tonight.. even though it's for work, im excited!

love, Celia

"A few of my favorite things"- Jamie

I was scrolling through my phone the other day and decided to post a simple photo booth entry of a few of my favorite (maybe obsessed) things- excuse the poor quality photos, the camera sucks on my blackberry!

-Mother's day just passed and I surprised my mama with sunflowers (my favorite flower) + home-made brunch!  There's just something about sunflowers, they make me happy.
-The weather has also been warming up a lot and I'm finding myself re-wearing my denim and high waisted white shorts over and over again! Basic washed denim and white make throwing an outfit together every day...easy ;)

-My sister got me this Disney Couture wrap bracelet for my birthday a while back and I totally forgot about it! It's been sitting in my jewelry box for the past year and I've been wearing it ever since I re-discovered it again.
-My go-to everyday shoes lately  has been my glittery black TOMS, my brown ankle wrap sandals from TARGET, and my blue strappy ones I got during my last trip to Asia.
-Obsessed with ESSIE nail polishes- especially the one to the right in Tart Deco. It's a really pretty coral-orange color (perfect for summer)!

And lastly, my new puppy- Peanut. She's been such a good + mellow little girl. My 3 yr old pit, Chloe has been so good with her too. It's been a week since I've had her and I'm so in love with her!

Have a great weekend everyone, next week you'll get a glimpse of what Celia's been loving at the moment so stay tuned ;)

love, Jamie

What We Wore: Patterned Tops!

Patterned tops are so much fun to wear because you can dress the top up or down and with a top that stands out already,  it is easy to pick out the rest of your outfit to compliment that top! It's funny because Jamie and I both liked each other's tops better than our own- right when we saw each other before taking the photos, we wanted to switch tops. These tops are also PERFECT for summer because they're made out of sheer material, layer a tank underneath for cooler nights and during the day, just wear a bandeau underneath to keep cool without having to show too much skin!

We also wanted to introduce to you all to a special (little) edition to our Buylove family (warning: too much cuteness ahead)

Jamie's outfit (left): Top & Jeans: Forever21,  Sandals: Target, Bracelet: Disney Couture

Celia's outfit (right): Top: Forever21, Shorts: True Religion, Boot: Urban Outfitters

We introduce to you...PEANUT (look at that cute face)!!! ;) She's a mini pomeranian and a whole 1lb of cotton that is Jamie's (& now mine!) new baby. You'll be seeing more of her in our posts, she's just too cute to not include!

Maxi-ing Out!

I've been on the search for a cute Maxi dress! Honestly though, I never felt like I would be able to pull off the maxi look because of my height- I always thought maxi dresses looked better on taller girls but Celia found a few that looked GOOD (Celia's 5'2 and I'm 5'4) so I thought I'd start looking for one again. As I was searching for maxi dresses I started to find jumpsuit type maxis and I fell in love with the new style!

Maxis are PERFECT for those lazy days- days where you just don't want to think about what you have to wear but you don't want to be too bummed out in sweats either. They're comfortable, perfect for SPRING, and easy to dress up and down (wear them with sandals OR throw on heels/wedges for a night out!). Believe it or not, TARGET has some really cute maxis that are both comfortable, fun colored, and priced just right! Forever 21 also has some good choices and if you want to try out the jumpsuit style like I did (they're SO comfortable) you should! I can easily dress up the jumpsuit maxi with heels for a night out too ;)

Celia's outfit (left): Jean Jacket- H&M, Maxi- Target, Sandals- Bamboo

Jamie's outfit (right): Maxi/jumpsuit: Forever21, Necklace: gifted from mom's old jewelry, Sandals- UK thrift store
