Buylove Inspired: Music Festivals

Being that weekend 1 for Coachella is this weekend, I just had to do a music festival inspired post! Also, I am packing for myself since I will be there this weekend and it was only natural to put together some outfit options. What makes dressing up fun is being able to wear items or outfits that you might not normally be able to wear.  Only thing missing this year, is J!! Although she can't be there with me, she will definitely be there in spirit :)

outfit #1: Decided to combine some bright fun colors together and a DIY headband I made for some girlfriends! Ofcourse, sandals for all day walking and standing with friends
Top: Cotton on, Skirt: H&M, Sandals: Zara

outfit #2: Maxi skirts are so comfy for a relaxing day listening to music and another DIY floral headband.
Top: Brandy Melville, Maxi Skirt: Forever21 (only $13!!), Vest: Random boutique

outfit#3: Ofcourse, had to include last year's coachella tank! Brings back such good memories since I had so much fun with J and friends. These fringe shorts were such a cute find, i love it for summer! Also, instead of wearing a bra, wear a colorful bathing suit top for a comfortable fit that's also fun and add color to your outfit!
Top: Coachella tank from 2012, Shorts: Forever21, Bathing suit top: Target, Sandals: Forever21

Lastly, accessories can definitely add to any outfit! My favorite accessory as you all know are headbands, so here are some of my favs that can be worn to any music festival!
Left to right: Urban outfitters, Urban outfitters, DIY, Forever21, Forever21, Forever21

OH! and I also wanted to include an outfit that I might wear for my trip to Orlando, FL. In addition to packing for Coachella, I also have to pack for Florida because I am taking a trip there for a relaxing week with my boyfriend right after!

Whew, a lot of packing going on over here but it'll be worth it! Can't wait for a much needed break and excited for the next few weeks.

Love, C

Opposites Attract!

J's Outfit: Top- Brandy Melville, Jeans- Juicy Couture, Boots- Forever 21
C's Outfit: Top & Vest- Forever 21, Shoes- Nike Dunks

Opposites attract, sometimes and in this case, they do! I think it's the color scheme of our outfits that make this work...C's outfit is so biker chic and mine is way more feminine with the floral top but the colors in our outfits are all neutral- there are blue, black and white-ish tones that blend both our different outfits together and btw how awesome are C's Nike dunks? ;)

--------------------------------

I miss dressing and accessorizing my outfits, I'm so sad it's nearly impossible to do here in Vietnam. It's too hot to layer, it's too "dangerous" to wear jewelry because I may get robbed anytime, and the least amount of items on you the better *sigh* this sucks- I miss all my clothes and my SHOES back at home.

Another thing, I can't believe MARCH starts at the end of this week! I feel like the days and weeks go by slow but once I realize it's the start of another month, it hits me how fast it went by. I'm enjoying my traveling time so far but I do miss home and of course my bestie. I usually always know what's going on with her but being on opposite ends of the world makes it hard- thank goodness for email, magic jack, and phone apps, I think it's funny that our friendship is now electronic based haha <3 whatever works!

Goodbye, Summer.

C's Outfit// Blazer: Cotton On, Crop Top: Brandy Melville, Pants: H&M, Shoes: Steve Madden

My cousin got me this crop top a couple weeks ago from Brandy Melville. Since it's nearing the end of summer I managed to wear it at least once before the weather gets fully winter status (it kind of already has!). Haven't worn something that showed my belly since college (or Halloween but that doesn't count ) so it felt a little weird. Balanced it out with a light blazer and some high waisted pants though, so it wouldn't feel as revealing :)

Goodbye Summer (FINALLY), I won't miss you!

PS. It's Thanksgiving this week- Jamie & I are celebrating early this year, can't wait to see her ;) holidays are so much fun esp with the bff!

Being creative and pushing myself to think outside of the box is one of the reasons why I absolutely LOVE Halloween!  Trust me, I was never this into Halloween before. C & I started the Halloween costume matching thing around 2008- not THAT long ago but I'm surprised that we've been keeping up with it since. It makes it that much more FUN and we know we can look forward to this holiday every year. I'm not going to lie, I love hearing the whispers around us when we walk by in our costumes every year...we "secretly" high five each other every time someone gives us a compliment. *high-five for pulling off another year of theee coolest costume*
C & J's Outfit
Tanks- Bought for $2.99 each at Charlotte Russe
Skirts- Bought sheets of fabric for $10 each from Jo-Ann Fabric then hand sewn
Stockings- Bought at an accessories store for $4.99 each
Belts- found in C & J's own closets
Boots- both from Urban Outfitters
P.S. The other bf joined in on the fun this year too, as big bird (hat and boots also DIY!)
(Buy a bag of yellow feathers from any craft store and hot glue them onto any hat- hat also found at craft store. Cookie Monster cookies were cut out from felt, easiest cookies I ever made!)

We don't exactly have the coolest costumes because of WHAT we are it's the coolest because we spend less than $20 each every year- there's always a DIY involved with our costumes and although we do pass by people who are dressed as the same "character" we know...in our eyes, ours is better because ours was hand made, cheap-er, and fully thought out from head to toe ;)

It's funny because C & I aren't very "showy" in your face- attention loving people at ALL but when it comes to Halloween...we take pride in our costumes (maybe it's because were disguised as someone/thing else) and that's when our tiny alter ego comes out.

Once every year only in October!

Enjoy our quick steps to this years Cookie Monster & Elmo costumes- we had so much fun with these but I did feel my old self get a bit lazier this year. Usually we have two costumes but this year we were good with one haha

Until next year...HAPPY HALLOWEEEEN!

Love, C & J

Hearts & Studs

C's outfit: Top: Forever21, Shorts: Gifted (DIY), Boots: Zara, Spiked headband: Similar here

With fall coming around the corner (or is it?!), I wanted to take advantage of the weather and wear my favorite studded shorts! They were a birthday gift from my cousin and she studded them herself. They are my first (& only) high waisted shorts and unfortunately, summer is pretty much over and I haven't found another pair I like. You can't really tell in the top photos but I also added this cute spike headband for fun, it makes me feel like statue of liberty when I wear it.

Like J mentioned earlier, Halloween weekend is almost here! We've been so busy working lately, I can't wait to spend some (non-work) time with J :)

What We Wore: Forever21 Editon

Last week was a long week for both us. We really needed a stress free day and planned a bff hangout for Sunday. We went and got pedicures (our favorite thing to do together!!) then spontaneously decided to go to the mall to look for items for our Halloween costume. Of course, we ended up at forever21 and shopped around for ourselves. We both found items and decided to style it for the week. Both of the items we bought were perfect for fall weather. I think we are secretly hoping if we wear fall, it will be fall. Unfortunately, it's been 90s in socal all week but we wore our outfits anyways!

J's forever21 find: Sheer longline shirt (find here) // shorts: // shoes: zooshoo.com

C's Forever21 find: Elbow patch cardigan (not online anymore, similar here) // shorts & headband: forever21

We love that even though the items we bought are completely different, they both have details that make them unique! J's shirt has beautiful metal trim tips and C's cardigan has elbow patches! Now, all we need is some fall weather!
