Buylove, Inspired: Summer..Lovin' Hats!

images via here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, & here

I recently got back from a quick vacation to Hawaii and got BURNED from laying out on the beach every day. A nice summer hat would have came in handy to protect my face from the sun, I've been seeing so many cute ones around but it's so hard to find the right one for my face shape! There's just way too many colors, styles, and patterns available I feel like it's going to take me forever to decide on one. This post has inspired me though to narrow down what kind of style I want to make it easier for myself and I think I'm leaning more towards the brown straw type floppy hats! I'm determined to find a cute one to last me through the rest of summer- wish me luck on my quest to find the perfect summer hat ;)

What We Wore: Patterned Tops!

Patterned tops are so much fun to wear because you can dress the top up or down and with a top that stands out already,  it is easy to pick out the rest of your outfit to compliment that top! It's funny because Jamie and I both liked each other's tops better than our own- right when we saw each other before taking the photos, we wanted to switch tops. These tops are also PERFECT for summer because they're made out of sheer material, layer a tank underneath for cooler nights and during the day, just wear a bandeau underneath to keep cool without having to show too much skin!

We also wanted to introduce to you all to a special (little) edition to our Buylove family (warning: too much cuteness ahead)

Jamie's outfit (left): Top & Jeans: Forever21,  Sandals: Target, Bracelet: Disney Couture

Celia's outfit (right): Top: Forever21, Shorts: True Religion, Boot: Urban Outfitters

We introduce to you...PEANUT (look at that cute face)!!! ;) She's a mini pomeranian and a whole 1lb of cotton that is Jamie's (& now mine!) new baby. You'll be seeing more of her in our posts, she's just too cute to not include!

Mixing & Matching Patterns

When we were younger the rule was to NEVER mix patterns- now that were older and the times have changed, mixing and matching patterns has turned into a surprisingly eye catching and FUN way to play with your wardrobe. Celia had a harder time finding items to mix her outfit with (the idea of mixing patterns is still new to us too) but I think her outfit turned out super cute!

Celia's Outfit: Jacket- Urban Outfitters (bought a while ago), Dress- Forever 21, Shoes- Vince Camuto
Jamie's Outfit: Top- Urban Outfitters (bought a while ago), Skirt- Zara, Shoes- Delicious

You may feel like it's hard to find the right patterns to put together but try to follow these simple rules: after experimenting with it, we think it's easier to mix and match patterns that aren't #1: the exact same and #2: don't wear two types of patterns that fight one another, choose either your top or bottom print to be bolder than the other.

Either way, have fun with it and be adventurous- go mix and match your patterns, you can do it! ;)
